Great Egret: Order Code Vb-94d
Subject:  Great Egret, Ardea alba
Date: 17 February 2004
Locale: Ding Darling Sanctuary, Sanibel Island, Florida
Photographer:  Kendall W. Corbin
Comments: The Great Egret is very similar in appearance to the white morph of the Great Blue Heron. However, the bill of the egret is smaller, its back plumes are much longer, and its legs are black rather than yellow. In the Ding Darling Sanctuary, the Egret is the more common bird.
