| Comments: Although the Laysan Albatross
is seldom seen near land, it is nevertheless common on and around
its breeding grounds. Kaua'i is one such island, where the birds
are especially common on the north side of the island. What appears
to be a pointed tail in flight is actually the feet, which extend
beyond the end of
the tail. This is a small albatross, being only 81 cm in length. |
