| Comments: The dark greens of summer
in the Virginia Creeper give way to brilliant hues of red in
the fall. On a vertical surface, such as on a tree trunk, the
overlapping leaves produce a pleasing cascade of color. The divided
leaves, each with its five leaflets, make it a simple matter
to distinguish this plant from the poison ivy with its three-leaflets,
but both are climbers and both can be bright red in the fall. |
