| Comments: The Waimea Canyon
was formed initially by the collapse of a caldera, and later
eroded and deepened by the flow of the Waimea River. Like the
much better known Grand Canyon of the U.S. southwest, the Waimea
is a magnificent geological wonder. This photo was taken from
the air. |
