| Comments: For 40 million years, the
powerful surf of the Atlantic Ocean has been eroding this easternmost
extention of Grand Terre, Guadeloupe. This rugged shoreline
contrasts dramatically with the calm Caribbean waters off the
western side
of the island. There are no lighthouses on this coast, and thus,
the sailor must be most on guard when approaching
these tropical isles from the Atlantic Ocean. |
