Beach Grass: Order Code ND-07
Subject: Beach Grass
Date: 20 July 1994
Locale: Long Island, Lake Superior, Wisconsin
Photographer:  Kendall W. Corbin
Comments: This beach grass, which is found as a narrow strip of vegetation along the shoreline, just above the high water mark, plays an important ecological role in the maintenance of beaches everywhere on the Great Lakes. Its roots hold the sand in place and prevents the erosion of the beach by wind and waves.
